Strategy execution in China – 42 facts and insights

Let China sleep, for when she awakes, she will shake the world.”

I’m back from my China trip, enjoying early morning thanks to the jetlag — a special treat for a night owl like myself. I was in Shanghai last week to teach the strategy implementation module for the Ahlstrom Advanced Leadership Programme.

The evening before the session started, I listened to an insightful presentation about China by Tero Kosonen, Managing Director Asia-Pasific MPS - a leading HR firm - and his colleague Francis Hoang.

Both have an interesting background, with experiences in the West and East —  Tero was born in Finland, but has been living  in China for 17 years; Francis was born and raised in China, moved to the US when she was 18 and came back to her home country after 20 years.

I took quite some notes that evening, felt inspired and combined the facts and insights I picked up with some of my own ideas. The result: a series of 5 articles about strategy and strategy execution in China. I will post one every week for the next 5 weeks. Hope you like them!
