Podcast: the knowledge revolution

Most leaders are still asking “what is AI”, the real question is what it means for their strategy.

In my recent conversation on The Flow State Podcast, host Stuart P. Turner and I dug into the knowledge revolution being driven by AI adoption.

Some key ideas we discussed:
– Fear around AI mostly comes from a lack of knowledge, not the technology itself
– The war on talent will intensify in the areas where human expertise still matters most
– AI is a prediction machine, pattern recognition on knowledge, the same way factories were pattern recognition on products
– Workforce planning needs to move up the agenda of the CEO and the board
– My “Three A’s” framework: Augmented, Automate, Aspire as a way to think through AI’s impact on strategy

One example I shared: in a purchasing team, we found a 12% performance gap between junior and senior buyers. We put an AI coach on the shoulder of every junior buyer to capture what experience alone couldn’t explain, and closed the gap to 7.5%.

It’s not about whether AI will have an impact. It’s about whether you have the knowledge to find the benefits before your competitors do.

Thanks again to Stuart P. Turner for the great conversation.
